What is it like to work at Cipher Knights?
A team of eight in Leicester, working directly with UK small businesses. Consultants own engagements end to end rather than working a narrow slice, which means broader experience earlier — and direct client contact from the start.
What we look for
Curiosity and the ability to explain something clearly, in roughly that order. A great deal of this work is translation — taking a technical finding and making a business owner understand why it matters and what to do. Someone who can do that is more valuable to our clients than someone who knows one more exploit.
Certifications are useful and we support people towards them, but we have no interest in filtering on them. If you can demonstrate that you understand how systems break and can write about it clearly, we want to talk.
- Clear written and spoken communication with non-technical people
- Genuine curiosity about how systems work and how they fail
- Willingness to say "I do not know" and then go and find out
- Care about doing right by clients who cannot check your work

Fixed scope, agreed in writing before we start. If the scope changes, we stop and re-quote rather than invoicing the difference.
